My Week

Happy Sunday!  Can we just a pick a time and stick with it?  I don't care which one it is. This is brutal to my system, and I will be confused and tired for a few days.  Am I the only one?

I saw this and think it is a good reminder for all of us.  We are the star in our own lives, and we need to always remember that.

I hope everyone enjoyed the first week of March.  We hit our first 80 degree day with a few in the 70's and now after off and on rain for a few days it's back to highs in the 60's.  The forsythia bush is popping out its pretty yellow leaves, the garlic that I planted in September is now showing 6-7 inches of growth and so many more signs of the new season and new growth.

Dinners this week...
I only make fried chicken once or twice a year because it's not the healthiest. We had fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw and a roll and it was so good.  I kind of wished we would have waited a few months because a few slices of fresh tomatoes would have been perfect.

BIG salad
Stir fried chicken, rice and asparagus
LO steak sandwiches and salad
LO chili and jalapeno poppers
Pasta, salad and garlic bread
Yesterday we went out to lunch with my brother and his partner.  We met at TGI Friday's about an hour north of us. The food was just OK but the two hours with them were wonderful.  💗
Naan with prosciutto, red onions and mozzarella cheese with a salad was our light dinner.

I worked all week and while I am thankful for a job to continue with my financial goals, it is getting a bit depressing there and the morale is horrible.  I did all of the normal things I do at home each week except I didn't read anything or watch much of anything on TV.

TBG is continuing to improve health/fitness wise, so I am very thankful for that.  Our health is really all we have when you think about it.

I hope everyone is safe and doing well.  Have a great week!!

  1. Yes, health is the most important thing! We celebrated Middle Child's birthday this weekend and I made her request of breaded chicken with a roasted veggie and tortellini in pesto sauce. I tried a new salad recipe, which was a combination of mango, cucumber, blueberries, and avocado. It was just okay, to be honest. I had to use the mango from Aldi, which is never very ripe.

    1. It really is. Happy birthday to her...I am sure she enjoyed everything. Mangos are one thing I miss about living in Florida. They were so good there. I don't even buy them often here anymore.

  2. I am with you - just stop this madness. I did not sleep well last night, thinking about when I had to get up. It will take a while.
Glad TBG continues to improve - health is so very important.
    Have a super week.

    1. I really wish it would stop. I am a creature of habit, and this throws off my eating times, sleep and so much more.

  3. I so agree on this time change business. I keep hearing about the government saying they are going to end it, but they never do. I don't get that, because everyone complains about it...
Your chicken looks so good. I haven't made fried chicken in forever...
Yes, health is so important and we take it for granted until we don't have it.

    1. It's crazy and I wish it would end. I get up at 4:30am for work and it takes my body longer and longer to adjust every time it changes.
It had been a long time since I've made fried chicken too and I was craving it a bit.

  4. I've always said the same thing. I don't care which time we stick with just pick one and lets stop the switching. It's not so bad when we fall back but the spring ahead really messes me up.

  6. So true about the health..I still wonder where you got time to blog at all. I like fried chicken, but usually without the coating. Hope you have a great new week ahead, Lori.

  7. You're so right about health being everything. Who would want to be the richest man in the world but with terrible health? Not me!

  8. I'm glad TBG is doing better, and yes I'll board The Hate Train against DST. I'm now doing everything at least an hour "later" until I adjust to things.
