My Weekly W's

What's top of my mind:  We decided to go back to 'old fashioned' Sundays starting tomorrow, and we figured Easter was a perfect day to start.  Tomorrow morning we're going to an Easter program and then come home to just relax and spend time together.  No phones or computers allowed.  Only fun or relaxing activities that rejuvenate us individually and as family and friends followed by a delicious meal.  I've tweaked my routine over the last few months to make sure everything needing done gets done during the week, so I think this is going to be awesome.

I also came across this list that I've been thinking about.

Where I've been:  Other than work and regular errands I didn't go anywhere this week.

Where I'm going:  Outside of work, I don't have any appointments or commitments which you all know is my favorite kind of week.

What I'm watching:  Yesterday we had our yard all cleaned up and reset after the winter.  It always amazes me how green everything is this time of year.  It's gorgeous.  Our old red bud is hanging in there.

What I'm reading:  I only read a bit this week.

What I'm watching:  North of North is a new series on Netflix.  I've watched the first three episodes and I'm enjoying it.  I also saw they put the 2002 movie Life or Something Like It on.  I remember seeing it when it came out and decided to watch it to see if it has stood the test of time.  I think it has.  I really enjoyed watching it again.

What I'm eating:
Lamb burgers and fries-SO good.

BIG salad x2
Blackened chicken, baked potato, slaw
Spaghetti and meatballs, salad
Tonight, I'm making lamb and potato hand pies with a salad

Who needs a good slap:  Clear Wave.  I am all for companies advertising their product and getting new customers but sometimes it's a bit too much.  In the last four months we have gotten two or three fliers every week in the mail along with someone ringing the doorbell once a week.  Three different times we've told them we aren't interested yet they continue.  Yesterday TBG told them to please STOP coming to our house. We'll see if that helps but somehow, I doubt it.  I give three slaps just for all of the paper they are wasting every week with all of the fliers.

What is making me smile:  I have so many reasons to smile, and I appreciate every single one, all day, every day.

I hope everyone that celebrates has a beautiful Easter and a wonderful week ahead.  Be sure and take time to have some fun and make some memories.

  1. Wonderful idea on going back to the old ways. Great list!!!!
I have a NO SOLICITATION note attached to the door and my daily garbage of knockers has stopped completely!
Enjoy your restful day and Happy Easter.

    1. We talked about it for awhile and I'm so glad we did. It was a wonderful day.
I am going to get a small note/sign because they are driving me nuts.
I hope you had a lovely Easter.

  2. I love your list for planning a month.v I am stealing it, except for the sunrise thing. Seeing one, once seasonally is fine with me!
We have a no solicitation ordinance for our neighborhood. It dose exclude kids selling stuff for their various activities and anyone in the neighborhood doing work from putting their cards out. It makes life much simpler.
Your meals sound wonderful. I love a lamb burger once in a while.

    1. I thought it was a great list of ideas. I'm up M-F at 430 so I won't have to worry about the sunrise thing. I see it enough.
I love that your neighborhood has that. I wish we did but I will be getting a sign.
I love lamb burger and this one hit the spot.

  3. I have a DO NOT KNOCK sign on my door. It doesn’t always work though. I find it hard to believe that anyone is buying from door to door solicitation, but someone must be or they wouldn’t keep doing it.

I hope your Easter is full of peace and love!

    1. I'm going to try and see if the sign works. This company is really doing a lot to drum up business and it's crazy.
I hope you and your family had a lovely Easter. We had a wonderful day.

  4. @Cheryl, does it have to be official? I'm so tired of the commotion the door knockers cause with the dogs. There's a lot of wasted paper. I like the monthly schedule prompts.

  5. I like that list of things to schedule for the month.
The advertising makes me crazy too. I get multiple letters every week for the local cable company. The could cut out all the stuff they mail and could save a fortune and give all their customers a discount.

    1. Exactly my thought on advertising. They are wasting SO much money. I thought the list had some fun ideas to mix things up a bit.

  6. I think it's very wise of you to have a "reset Sunday"! We seem to get so wrapped up in doing things and rushing all the time that making time for just being together and relaxing gets pushed to the side, especially when you're working! And thanks for those Netflix recommendations. I'd been very disappointed with Netflix as nothing seems to grab my attention, so I looked up the two programmes you mentioned to see if we had them over here (Netflix France doesn't always have the same shows as Netflix US) and they do. And joy of joys, I see Tony Shalhoub is in the film. I just love him so I'll definitely check it out!

    1. We talked about and we all just want to slow down and enjoy one no tech day with each other like the 'old days'. It was wonderful and I think we're going to love it.
I have been struggling to find much on Netflix lately too but that movie and series did not disappoint. I love him also. It's a fun movie.

  7. I love your Sunday idea! (while I sit here on my computer and type this LOL). Maybe a No Solicitors sign would do the trick. I don't think I remember seeing that movie Life or Something Like It - I'll check it out.

    1. It was such a nice day. I think I'm really going to enjoy this. I am going to get a sign to see if that works. Life or Something Like It is a good movie.

  11. Hey Lori! I do those things on that list all the time! It's the best. Also, though, I don't have Internet on my phone so it's easy to stay away. Love that list though. So important.

    1. That's awesome Ivy. I do a few but having a check list will give me something to look back on. I'm not really on my phone much, but officially unplugging from everything for one day is so nice. Have a great day.

  12. We have a “No Soliciting“ sign posted at the entrance to the subdivision, but what I have learned is that a lot of people don’t know the meaning of the word “solicitation.” What I mean by this is that a product, a physical product, does not have to be involved. I am always happy to educate them on this and, generally, send them fleeing from the neighborhood. I have absolutely no tolerance for this kind of thing.

  15. Awwwww sweet Binx! All of your food sounds delicious and I like your plan of truly resting and enjoying one another on Sunday. Of course we go to church Sunday morning and Sunday night, but the services are not long and we enjoy being with all of our friends. Otherwise Sundays are quiet, and we get home quite early in the evening. I love the quiet of being at home on Sunday night after church! I dislike anyone banging on my door to sell something and in fact I do not go to the door unless I'm expecting someone, which is almost never, hahahaa xoxo

    1. Hi Jenny! Can you believe Binx is 3 now? Crazy how time goes by so quickly. We go to church most Sunday mornings and have really enjoyed just relaxing the rest of the day with a nice meal and then doing what we want instead of projects, work, etc. It's nice.
