I just learned this on our trip to MN! We had stopped to visit with some of dh's cousins and dh was asking how come they don't need to have watering systems, or how everyone's lawn is beautiful green and no sprinklers, and it was explained about all the water corn releases. My dry eyes loved the humidity in the air, there. I need to grow a corn field, LOL.
I heard about corn sweat for the first time last year from a fellow blogger who lives in Wisconsin. It makes sense, when you bit into an ear of corn! But so strange to think about!

ReplyDeleteIt really is pretty fascinating when you think about it.
DeleteJuly and August are brutal here with the humidity but my hair loves it.
Very interesting. I learned my new thing today!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt explains why it is so humid, doesn't it?
DeleteWait. What? Of course I wouldn't know that here in California. That is interesting stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting. The humidity is thick here this time of year.
DeleteThat's fascinating! I can't stand the combination of heat and humidity...they would kill me.
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about Illinois is the heat/humidity only last a short time. When we lived in South Florida it was brutal and lasted months.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, my grandfather told me that the hotter it was and the more water the corn released, the sweeter it would be.
DeleteI had no idea. That's pretty interesting
ReplyDeleteNature is fascinating to me.
