And this is always next. We had a fireplace in Florida to hang our stockings but not here, so I found this and really love it.
Meet Claire and Oliver. Before the bitter cold snap, TBG and I took a horse and buggy ride downtown around the Commons and it was so nice. I really wanted to go to the Christmas parade, but the traffic and parking are always so annoying we decided to pass. I think we're just getting older because traffic and parking never kept us from doing anything before. 😏
I've mentioned many times that we have an awesome farmers market and many farms to buy from. Well now a lot of them have come together and they are doing a Winter Market inside the mall December thru March. I was so excited! My favorite farmer is there along with a lot of others. There is fresh dairy, meat, some veggies and so many other things. It's great to be able to buy things to support the locals and I love meeting more new people.
Chicken Tika Masala with rice and naan
Chicken, baked potato and salad
Steak, scalloped potatoes and green beans. The steaks were huge, so we split one for dinner and used the other one to make steak sandwiches. SO delicious!
Beef taco over rice with a cheese roll up.
I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful time of year!!
Are you ready for Christmas?
The steak looks great and i love the chicken tika masala too. Continue to enjoy the advent time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie! I hope you are enjoying the season as well.
DeleteYour meals look delish.
ReplyDeleteMany, many years ago I got to go on a horse and buggy ride around the city at Christmas. It was so cold, but just beautiful.
Glad you are enjoying the season.
Thank you. We were luckily able to do it before it got quite so cold. It was a lot of fun seeing the lights downtown this way. I hope you have a lovely week!!
DeleteYour dinners always look/sound so good.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on skipping things because of traffic and parking. I'm not much into crowds these days. A carriage ride sure sounds nice
Thank you. The last few years we catch ourselves deciding not to do something because of parking or crowds so I guess those days are over for the most part. It was fun and not quite as cold yet.
DeleteI'm with you on the traffic and parking deal. It's one of the big reasons why I want to move. A smaller town away from the big city sounds so appealing right now.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is 20 years ago when we lived in big city with 10x more crowds and traffic it didn't bother either of us at all. But now here in a small town, neither of us want to deal with any crowds or parking issues. I guess we are officially getting old!
DeleteMy tikka marsala attempts are never as good as I want them to be. About Christmas: haven't started! After this I go to the garage and see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteI've been in Christmas mode since November.
DeleteThe Christmas Countdown is very cool!
ReplyDeleteWe aren't fans of traffic and parking either. I would love the carriage ride.
I found that years ago at Hallmark and I just thought it was perfect for the kitchen. The carriage ride was nice.
DeleteI won’t be ready until Christmas Eve. So many gifts to wrap and cookies to bake. We also host a big cousin party on the 27th, so lots to do to prepare for that. My husband is a psycho about parking these days 🤣
ReplyDeleteSorry you have so many things on your to do list. I think I remember seeing pictures of your cousin party, how awesome. I never thought I would miss something because of parking yet here we are.
DeleteThe Christmas countdown is real. We have been known to avoid things because of parking and traffic, but we are older and think of those things now.
ReplyDelete10 days Anne!! We think of those things now too along with how far away the bathroom is, will it be noisy, etc.
DeleteHow fun to do a horse and buggy ride- Nice that the farmers have a winter market- Wishing you a very merry Christmas in case I don't get back here before the holiday,
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and I was so excited when they announced a winter market. It is awesome. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to you and your family Judee!!
DeleteI'm not ready for Christmas although the tree and decorations are up. Hopefully I'll get it all done this week and then I can enjoy it a bit more!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying it is the most important thing!
DeleteI love your decorations, and I'm so glad you are enjoying the holiday season! I'm the same way about big crowds and parking these days, just not worth the effort most of the time. Your meals look fantastic, Lori. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha,! It looks like we're not alone in the crowd/parking thing. Enjoy your granddaughters this week!!
DeleteOh my gosh, Lori. That calendar is soooooo stinkin' cute! ❤️
ReplyDeleteIsn't it? I found it years ago at Hallmark and I love it.
DeleteIt is a magical time.. I love seeing all the houses little up.
ReplyDeleteI do too. It adds so much sparkle and beauty to this time of year.
DeleteThank you Billie Jo. Yes, this is the best time of the year!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori! Stopped back in to say thank you about the Darth and candy cane. Found him at a discount store (TJ/TK Maxx), for cheap. But it was that candy cane that sold the item. When I saw that teeny tiny candy cane I was like, I gotta shoot that. I gotttaa shoooot that. Plus, the all black shine would be a interesting reflection challenge.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a fun rest of the month. Where did the year go? Excited to see what other goodies you share in 2026.
Happy Christmas!
Yes, Darth and the candy cane is just too cute!! I love it.
DeleteI have no idea where this year went. I try so hard to live in the moment, but these moments are passing by quicker all the time.
After Friday I am off until January 5th so I plan on having all the fun.
Take care my friend and enjoy the season!!
Yes, I agree. So fast. Excellent on the time off, that's the same with Tim. He has Christmas Vacation for 11 days and also goes back on the 5th. Very, very cool. Here's the rest of the year, along with yummy foods too.
DeleteThe Christmas calendar is so lovely! It's great that you have had it for so many years.
ReplyDeleteChicken Tika Masala with rice and naan...oh my!
Thank you for stopping by. Chicken Tikka Masala is one of my favorites.
DeleteI love that stocking hanger! We did not go to the Christmas in Plymouth because it was only 7 degrees that night! I was disappointed but it was not worth risking life and limb! Merry Christmas to you and TBG!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I've been looking for something for the stockings for a while and I really like this one. Yes, 7 degrees is TOO cold to be out. Merry Christmas to you and your family Jeanette!!
DeleteYour meals all sound fabulous! I haven’t had chicken tikka masala in ages, and it sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We hadn't had it in a while either and it hit the spot.
DeleteMerry Christmas Lori! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday! Xx
ReplyDeleteI hope your holiday was lovely Danielle.
DeleteStopped in to wish you a Happy Christmas and a Yummy New Year! I've enjoyed your postings in 2025. Here's to a fun 2026. Whoosh goes the years. Whoosh I say, whoosh.
ReplyDeleteWhoosh is exactly right!! I hope 2026 is a wonderful year for everyone.
Delete❤️
DeleteI too stopped by to say ❄️Merry Christmas 🎄🎅🏻⛄️ I hope your day is a splendid one.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I hope you enjoyed your holiday.
DeleteOh these meals look amazing. I'm planning on having my cabinets painted after the new year, and have been planning which meals will be cooked after that's done. I think I need to make some fish tacos and Chicken Tika Masala with rice and naan. Do you make your naan homemade too?
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, I do make our naan.
