From Recipetin Eats Dinner by Nagi Maehashi
2 x 6 ounce salmon fillets
Marinade Glaze
1 tsp finely minced ginger
1 garlic clove finely minced (I used two)
1 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp oyster or fish sauce
2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
Garnished (Optional)
Sesame seeds
Finely sliced green onion
Combine all of the ingredients to make the glaze and marinate the salmon in it for 30 minutes or overnight. (I marinated ours for probably 4 hours)
I used the broiler setting on our Ninja and cooked the salmon skin side down for 9 minutes and it was perfect.
According to her notes you want the salmon to be 120 F for medium-rare and 140 F for medium. Ours was right at 130 F.
The glaze gives the perfect amount of heat and flavor. We both enjoyed it served over white basmati rice and a small salad. This will absolutely be added to our meal rotations. 10 out of 10!
I make a similar dish, teriyaki salmon. I LOVE salmon, so I try to make it every few weeks and I always order it at restaurants if it's on the menu.
ReplyDeleteWe love salmon too. This was Alaskan and so delicious.
DeleteSounds and looks yum!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl.
DeleteLooks as delicious as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteIt was tasty Anne.
DeleteThose green onions and sesame seeds really gussy it up visually. 8-)
ReplyDeleteI decided to get fancy. ;-)
DeleteI usually make salmon for company and am always on the lookout for a good recipe. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good one. Flavor with out a ton of heat.
DeleteI love spreading that WS x JG miso yuzu glaze on my salmon before I bake it. That's what your picture reminded me of.
ReplyDeleteYUM! That sounds delish.
DeleteYum, your food always looks like a picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim.
DeleteOh wow, that looks really good
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was tasty.
DeleteI make a similar salmon dish from a Delia Smith book and it's delicious. Takes no time at all too, so what's not to like!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how quickly you can make a lovely and tasty dish when it is seafood isn't it?
DeleteI will definitely try that recipe. It sounds like what they use on salmon at one of our favorite restaurants that I haven't been able to replicate. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I hope you enjoy it. We did.
Deleteyay for Nagi again! I must get stuck into her latest which i bought but haven't delved into yet.
ReplyDeleteThis salmon was delicious. We're having it again tonight. I want to work through some more of the first book before I get the next. I'm trying not to buy anymore cookbooks, but I will get it soon. I could have much worse habits, right?
DeleteI love the idea of glazes. What kind of Ninja did you use when baking this? I'm playing with my new air fryer oven lid. Did cod last night. Came out quick. Good too. Though Salmon is my most fave. I got real sick last year and it was in my lungs. Dr gave me an inhaler that I was allergic to. Or, she wanted me to get it. I didn't when I read more about it because I'm allergic to milk proteins. Anyway .... I did some digging and salmon was recommended and I thought, okay, haven't eaten fish in a billion years, gonna try it.
ReplyDeleteIt helped sooooooo much. I was amazed. Now if it really worked or it was just in my head, either way, I'll take it.
Happy Cooking!
Hi Ivy! I have a Ninja 14 in 1. 14 options for cooking, dehydrating, air fry, etc. I did the salmon on broil. This recipe is a keeper. It has the perfect combo of flavor and is a quick , delicious and easy weeknight meal.
