My Weekly W's

What's top of my mind:  Stuff.  I've been going through everything the last few weeks like I do once or twice a year. I still have a few things to do like my dresser. I have a large collection of gorgeous scarves and shawls and I need to find a better way to store them so I can see them and get to the one I want easily. Any suggestions?  It feels so good to only have what you love and what you actually use.  I found 300.00 in one of the hutch drawers where I keep my table linens.  Not sure why I put it there but I'll take it.

Where I've been: I worked all week, stopped at Kroger for veggies and milk and filled up the Jeep.  That's it.

Where I'm going: Today we're going to go to Rural King to pick up a few things.  Saturday we have to pick up our meat order and a few things from Market Thyme. While we're out we'll stop at Drakes for lunch.

What I'm watching: The birds.  We filled both of our large bird feeders last Saturday and we've had so many birds this week that they are both almost empty.  The bird feeders are right in line with our patio door so sitting at the dining room table gives me a clear view. The indigo buntings are just beautiful.

What I'm reading: Cookbooks, blogs and a few articles were the extent of reading this week.

What I'm listening to: The conversations at work are riveting.  It is so interesting to have so many people from different countries giving their prospective on things going on in the world.  Being a part of such a diverse group is one of the biggest things I like about my job.

What I'm eating:

BIG salad

Pasta, salad, garlic cheese biscuits
Chicken tika masala and rice
Popovers, eggs and ham

Calzones, salad
Grilled Chicken kabobs, beans and rice

Tonight we're having Wild Alaskan Cod.

Who needs a good slap: No one particular jumps to mind at the moment.

What I'm planning: I've been planning out the garden and the planting days.  April 15th is our official last frost date so it's almost time.  A lot of the perennials are coming back which is always nice.

What's making me smile:  Our 32nd Anniversary was Wednesday.  Looking back on our years together and the hopes for the future gave me quite a smile. We have been very fortunate during our journey together and I am very thankful for that.

Happy Sunday!!

  1. I wasn't expecting to go anywhere but a walk yesterday, then remembered a fundraiser I needed to be at to support a friend. Now, I'm staying put, walk aside, until Wednesday trivia. It's pretty much my norm.

    1. That's awesome that you were able to go and support your friend.
The new 'normal' has been on my mind lately. Do I miss things I used to do routinely? Not really. I realize a lot of what was part of my normal pre covid was really unnecessary. I kind of like the slow pace and appreciate any outings and events a lot more now.

  4. I've had my office windows cracked open these past few weeks, and I've noticed the welcome return of bird sounds. It's so nice to hear.

  5. Happy belated anniversary! 32 years is an achievement! Wishing you and your husband many wonderful more years together! Yum with those chicken kabobs and that chicken tiki masala looks good too! Do you have a recipe for it?

How fun with the bird feeders! I love to watch them feed! When we lived in Prescott, Arizona we had several feeders up in the backyard. We got an assortment of birds. In fact we got so many that we would fill the feeders up in the morning and by evening they would be empty! My favorite were the quail that came. They didn't eat from the feeders but from the stuff the other birds spilled out of it. Fun times!

I don't know how to organize scarves. Honestly, I don't own a scarf lol :) I wonder if you could find something on YouTube on how to best organize them! Yay for the found money! Always a treat and unexpected!

I bet it is interesting with the conversations at work. I do enjoy hearing other people's opinions and even if I may disagree with them, I always find I learn new things as a result!

    Happy new week ahead!

    1. Thank you Betty! I will be sure and share my chicken tiki masala.

We don't have quail but I love watching the mourning doves. They also eat whatever has been dropped.

I'm sure living in Arizona you don't have scarves. I didn't in Florida either but in 17 years here in the Midwest I've acquired a large collection. Most of them were gifts. They're all beautiful. I will have to check out You Tube or Pinterest sometime this week.

I love learning about different cultures and ideals. It's fascinating to me. I've learned so much from others with different prospective over the years.

I hope you have a great week!!
