Eat Real Food

Our old Food Pyramid was never correct in my opinion.  Now hospitals, schools, etc. will have to start basing the meals they serve on this.

The US has a health problem, and I think this is excellent news.

 Eat Real Food

RFK Jr. updated the food pyramid. See what's different for your plate.

  1. I think it's a good thing too.

  2. I also think it's a good thing. I follow a high protein low carb diet (most of the time anyway!) except I limit my fruit to 3/4-1 cup a day due to being diabetic.

    1. That is pretty much how we eat also. I like fruit but it just isn't something I will reach for so I'm sure I don't eat enough of it.

  3. It's a step in the right direction, though I personally believe that we are too focused on protein and not enough focus on fiber.

    1. I agree it isn't perfect but like you said, it is a big improvement over what it was before.

  4. Whole foods-yes. What does concern me is the big rise of saturated fat he recommends................

    1. In cooking I use butter, tallow, olive oil, coconut oil, ghee or avocado oil. But everything is used in moderation. The chemicals in so many things processed is what I always avoid.

  5. It's a wonderful thing. It's how I lost so much weight and kept it off.

  7. We have been pushed to eat crap, and real homemade food with ingredients is the way to go.

  8. Unfortunately I have never followed a very healthy diet.

    1. We eat whole foods because our stomach just cannot handle most processed foods.

  9. The foods, and I use the term loosely, that children are served in public school Is criminal. This goes back to when I was in school and we were served the most vile things. I did spend two years in private school, and the food was excellent. There were actual cooks who actually prepared food, none of it was ordered in.

    1. I went to private school from K-8 and the food was delicious with real cooks in the kitchen making the food. I remember HS was just junk food. I am all for anything that can help make things better in our schools and hospitals where like you said, food is not even the correct word for it.
