The weather was all over the place this month with spring, summer and winter temperatures so our meals were a mixture too. Here are some of my favorite meals from March.
I have always made quite a bit of our bread, but I've been on a roll and have made all of the various breads we've eaten since January. I don't think there is any going back to store bought now. Here are two of my favorites.
Loaf of white Dutch oven bread. Culinary Adventures with Lori: My new go to Bread recipe
A friend of mine loves dates and sweets so I used peanut butter to stuff in a date and then dipped them in chocolate and sprinkled some with pistachio nuts and she LOVED them. They really are pretty good and mostly pretty healthy too. She is always bringing me things from Poland like this cute trivet and a couple more kitchen towels.
So that is what March looked like in my kitchen. I am joining Sherry at sherrys pickings who hosts In My Kitchen and connects us to each other from all over the globe. Thank you again for hosting Sherry. I hope everyone has a wonderful April.
Everything looks very good! I'm impressed with all the breads you've made.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mari.
DeleteYum, it all looks good. March did go by super fast and our weather has been the same. Up one day and way back down the next.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter
Thank you Ann. I hope April doesn't fly by, but I think every month seems to for some reason. Spring weather is crazy.
DeleteYum. Looks like lots and lots of good eating in March. Love the bread, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy. We did eat well.
DeleteI thought of you today. So last night (and each Saturday), I make seasoned pizza dough. Sorry if I already told you this ... well sometimes I have leftover. It goes in the fridge and the next day I make a big flat bread of it of sorts. OMG it's so good. Some Saturday nights I'll make the bread and the pizza. Other times in the fridge with leftover dough. Either way, oh my yum are we eating good.
DeleteHope you have a great week, Lori!
Yum on the pizza and the flatbread. Both sound delicious. I'm glad to hear you are eating well at your house.
DeleteI hope you have a great week as well, Ivy!!
I never cease to marvel at your breads and soups.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice compliment. Thank you.
DeleteThat looks like a really delicious March! Haven't made stuffed dates in ages...they are so good.
ReplyDeleteI love sweet or savory stuffed dates. These were very good.
DeleteOh my goodness, that looks wonderful. Will you adopt me please?????
ReplyDeleteIf you were closer, I would love to invite you to dinner.
DeleteA lamb burger would really hit the spot later today.
ReplyDeleteLamb burgers are my favorite and they do hit the spot.
DeletePutting ginger in chicken soup is new to me and something I am looking forward to doing. I make our bread. I need to give bagels a try, I think about it but don't do it. March did fly by!
ReplyDeleteI love ginger, garlic, turmeric and cumin in my chicken soup. It gives it so much flavor. Yes, March did fly by, and the bagel recipe is very straight forward and they are delicious.
DeleteIt all looks so delish. The figs look professional!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl.
DeleteOh those bagels are really singing to me! I haven't made them for a long time and I'm wondering if my French colleagues would appreciate them hmmmm..... good on you for making all your bread, it's hard to go back to store bought, I went through the same transformation a few years back. We do buy baguettes from time to time when we are out of bread and they are generally quite good in Frnace. Have a great April!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am sure your colleagues would love the bagels. If I lived where you do, I probably wouldn't be making all of my bread but here in the US grocery store bread is not good and bakeries are few and far between in my area. Wishing you a wonderful April as well.
DeleteYour March looks delicious, especially your baked goods. Anne in the kitchen
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne.
DeleteThe weather in the spring is so unpredictable and so varied. Your meals look great and I love that cork trivet with the cats. Your breads are pretty impressive. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Judee. It is SO unpredictable but nothing we can do about it. Wishing you a great week too.
DeleteThose dates do look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThey really were a nice treat and nothing too unhealthy.
DeleteYour breads are beautiful! Nice review of your month of March!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYour bread looks delicious, Lori! I am going to try your recipe! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think you'll enjoy the bread. It is so good and after sliced, it freezes well for toast or garlic bread later.
Deletethanks so much for being part of IMK, Lori. Love your breads and your tea towels! Yes the time is flying by so fast ... Have a great month.
ReplyDeletecheers
sherry
Thank you for hosting Sherry. I always love reading everyone's posts. I have a lot of tea towels that she has brought me from Poland. Their quality is amazing. Wishing you a wonderful April.
Deleteoh yes the dates too...
ReplyDeleteI love sweet or savory dates. These were nice.
DeleteI made chicken soup this week as well. The white beans are something that would jot have occurred to me, but I'm going to try it next time. As far as baking bread, I started doing so at the beginning of the year and, like you, said, there is no turning back.
ReplyDeleteI saw your soup and it looks delicious. Like you, I try to make my soup as hardy as possible without turning it into a stew. lol
DeleteThat's awesome that you've been doing all of your bread too. I know I can't go back to store bought now and I'm ok with that.
Hello! I always enjoy visiting here with you. You and I have so much in common. And I love what you said about living each day and enjoying it. And of course I alway love to see what you are cooking!
ReplyDeleteHi Billie Jo. Yes, we do seem to have a lot in common. Time goes by so quickly, I just want to savor every moment. Have a great week.
DeleteI've been meaning to try to make some of those date candies. Yours look amazing!
ReplyDeleteThey are really good. You should try them.
DeleteThose dates are so good.. I haven't made them in so long..
ReplyDeleteAll your meals look incredible.
Thank you Hena. The dates are really good.
DeleteWe also had a mix of season this March here in Poland. Your food looks awesome! I would grab one date or three
ReplyDeleteThe dates were very good and a slight bit healthy.
DeleteGirl you have really leveled up with all of that bread making! All of your meals look delicious but bread is so very close to my heart, hahaa! Love to Binx and you and TBG! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI really find making bread to be very relaxing. Plus, I have a deep love of it like you. I wish you were closer because I would share. Love and hugs to all of you as well!!
